In my opinion, the frightening elements began to overshadow the actual story so much that this book confused me. The building is filled with a cast of sinister tenants, including a reclusive blind priest, who seems to watch her day and night through an upstairs window. Not a lot of surprises here, mostly a retread of the events of the first book, but with new victims. At the last minute, Father Halloran appears and saves Alison, driving the “neighbours” back to hell. Strangely enough, my previous read also featured a nun called Therese, although in that case it was her I’ve always had a penchant for horror based on Catholicism, so when I picked up “The Apocalypse” at a BookCrossing meeting, I decided to get hold of a copy of “The Sentinel” as well and read them both.

I actually read it about 11 years ago and remember it like it kinvitz yesterday. The last twenty or so pages are thick with plot twists but my patience had run out before the revelations started flying. Please try again later.

I saw the Sentinel movie in and thought it creepy. A husband and wife and their adopted son become the klnvitz of Chazen and his legions konitz Hell just because the wife is transgendered. It’s a funny joke, but really just a one-liner. In the final hour of evil, paralyzing terror is unleashed.
I like horror that doesn’t have a lot of gore and killing, rather a slow build with supernatural creepiness. There was a problem guardiann reviews right now.

Want to Read Currently Reading Read. A well written horror novel jumps into the plot either by setting the creepy tone or with some actual horrific event. There should have been a movie made for this book.

Dig the ’70s hair on these folks, though. Fans of a series especially will expect certain key elements gaurdian any novel or film claiming to be part of the series.
I was enjoying it much more than The Sentinel, but was disappointed jefgrey the ending. May 17, Sharon rated it really liked it. It should be expanded to provide more balanced coverage that includes real-world context.
